Loving Kindness Meditation – 10 Minutes

This is a traditional meditation allows us to open ourselves up and send good wishes to ourselves first and then to others.  We practice this meditation because many times we may not treat ourselves as wholesomely as we should.  We may also see others in a negative light.  Practicing sending well wishes to ourselves and other allows us to create room for more acceptance.

In this meditation we may also practice noticing when our egos get in the way of sending well wishes to others, in particular those that are challenging to us.  In this case we practice sending love despite our reluctance.  The more we practice the more we realize that sending everyone love does not impact ourselves.  Everyone’s light can shine equality.

Micro Practice:  Follow these 3 breathing steps…

  1. Breathe and be present in with your breath.
  2. Breathe and wish the people around you love and kindness.
  3. Breathe and send yourself love and kind wishes.
